Shilling….
Ok. Despite the lack of an abundance of money, as well as other things that I could spend the money on. I caved and actually purchased that geek-crack – Minecraft. I did and I’m not ashamed, although I do feel a bit guilty.
The developer, Notch, broke his authentication server during an update about a month ago. During that time the game was free to download and to play. It’s continued working in offline mode even though the server authentication was fixed. With the promise of an update this week I thought I’d go ahead and actually pay so that I can get the update when it’s released.
The game itself is currently in Alpha, and while in Alpha it’s 50% off the planned purchase price. It’s 9.95e – which today ended up costing me $14.06. I must suggest that if you don’t really have extra time to spend playing games, than you might not want to do it. It will eat you alive. If you do end up getting it, let me know… I’ll give you the link to the multi-player server I’m playing on.
After the cut there are a few video’s to see what it’s all about.
Can’t get away…
We’ve been at church all weekend. It’s just one of those weekends. It really feels like it’s been one of those months…or a few months at least.
Currently, I’m running sound for our Small Group Test Drive event, where about 50 peole from around Cincinnati have met to see how VCC small groups work. It’s only about an hour long. This event is done by the small groups team here @ VCC. Small groups is also the folks that organized the Love and Respect conference and the group the Amy volunteers with several times during the week. I’m proud of her…she’s done a lot and has excellent skills that she gets to put to use. I’ve also had fun being useful around here too.
We got stuff to do around the house in preparation for Amy’s moms visit in 2 weeks…and… we got laundry to do and dinner to make and stuff to get together for school tomorrow.
Azad Indian Restaurant
While I’m not a food blogger, if I were on FB, I would be talking this restaurant up. A co-worker and I had lunch there this afternoon and I feel so fat. I’ve tried most of the Indian buffets in our area, this one recently opened up in the space previously occupied by Johnny Chan chinese buffet, at the corner of Cornell and Reed Hartman Roads. This is the closest Indian restaurant to our office and I must say it’s the best I’ve had. I don’t know much about authenticity, but I do know about taste… and this was delicious. I tried just about everything on the buffet, which the owner told me they change daily. I wish I knew the Indian names for the stuff….I had the creamed spinach with chicken, lamb with a red sauce, some fried vegetables, fried chicken wings, chili chicken stuff
, and mango ice cream, gulab jaman, and hot chai tea.
As you can tell, food blogger I’m not, but fan of Azad, I am. Eat There. Be Happy.

Everybody’s Working for the Weekend
Well it seems as if the siren song of blogging continues to call my name. I want a little microblog/status update/twitter/facebook thingee here too. I’ve been poking my head around looking for something applicable. I want to provide status updates, not really a blog entry. I haven’t played in this world recently enough to know what’s out there or how folks are doing it.
To Do List:
- Gonna go for at least once a week here. Setting a goal sounds like a good idea.
- Create some categories.
- Microblog/Status
- Share quick links. I imagine this will be a Google Reader hoodgie
- Get connected with the local bloggers, particularly ones participating in similar faith journeys.
So that’s that for now. Watch this space for my next update – Bailing on Facebook
